I completed a project for 621 called Using Moodle as an adjunct to my face - to - face class.  Matiul thought with a little work it might be worth presenting at a conference.  I am wondering what your thoughts would be.

    Hi Terry,

I am done with my Thesis and expect to be defending it at the end of January or in February. I would be very interested in presenting it at the symposium. Since I am an international student, I live in São Paulo, Brazil, I was wondering whether I'd be elligible for funding. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Hi Viviane

Rick Kenny provided the following response to your question.

Hi, Terry. I think that Vivianne may still be eligible for *some* travel funds (up to $1000) from the Graduate Student Research Fund (GSFR) as long as she applies while still a student and the good news is that there is an upcoming deadline of Feb. 10th!  The GSRF definitely provides for money for travel to disseminate her thesis research and i don't see why RIDES wouldn't fit the bill as a venue. She *may* also be eligible for a variation on the Profiling Alberta's Grad Students Fund, as I am pretty sure AU had set up an equivalent fund for those of our grad students who don't live in Alberta

Vivianne should check out the Grad Student Research Fund website at: http://www2.athabascau.ca/research/students/

I hope this helps Viviane and others . Hope to see you in Edmonton!

    Terry

    Vivianne,

The awards mentioned in the Conference Invitation are for doctoral students. However, there are some possibilities for Masters-level students. Rick mentioned the GSRF. You might also look at the awards listed at:

    http://registrar.athabascau.ca/studentawards/graduate.php#24

These are all the Student Awards available for masters students. Although none are for travel specifically, you could still apply for the financial awards as they might be able to offset some of your other costs (e.g., 704 course fee).

    Susan
