I can't believe I started this blog and haven't come back to it since July.
We are in the final stages of review and revision on the new CLDD website, hoping to launch it in the next couple of weeks. The idea was to make it interactive and dynamic, and the blog idea was a key part of that. It was a good initiative, and I'll try to stick to the plan going forward.
Everyone in CLDD has been contributing to the university's efforts to take full advantage of the online environment for teaching and learning. We are working on new policy development and business process changes to help us all manage the potential of new models of teaching and learning. While change is difficult and time consuming, we are making real progress!
Further to my last post, the Copyright Office has been overwhelmed with permission renewals and course audits related to the move away from ACCESS Copyright, and some courses in the regular development process have been delayed as a result. But we are catching up, in spite of the reluctance of some publishers to respond in a timely way to our requests.
In educational development we've started a new series of "Practical Conversations on Teaching and Learning Online" to capture the experience of academics and learning designers for sharing with colleagues across the disciplines. Typically, these sessions are scheduled at the end of every month. Watch for the invitations for February, March and April 2012 in your email inbox.
