I explained my reasons in an earlier post for deciding to Not use the cometencies matrix, and now I have modified it, and decided to use it as part of the portfolio summary paper after all.
Thanks to recent feedback available in Moodle, in which Susan Moisey replied to another learner about the drafting process, I revised my earlier draft to include an introduction and conclusion, and weaved a narrative in which I explained the significance of the artefacts (is it artefacts or artifacts, in this case?) and explained how these showcase my learning.
There is so much to include, and I know the priority for the completion of the assignment is to match the competencies with the elements in the artefacts. This is easy in some cases, not so easy in others. For example, the blog posts draw on a number of the competencies listed in the MDDE program list; however, so many of the artefacts wetre created as an ongoing "digital footprint" in which I can trace my development of ideas over a period of time. This development has not finished. My question is to what extent should I discuss how the competencies I learned from the MDDE program have prepared me to master other competencies, and how much of the summary should be devoted to future work, such as research directions?
