The only interesting thing I've seen about the Oscar awards

...Partly because it's not really about the Oscars. It's about how Hollywood movies consistently under- or misrepresent women, an analysis made here by applying "the Bechdel test" to Oscar nominees. It also varies the test for other marginalized and minoritized groups.

The video ends by sort of exhorting Hollywood to make more meaningfully "female-centred" films. I'm not convinced that's the answer. But the analysis in itself is a compelling and elegant form of content analysis.
