Nominations are now being accepted for AUSU By-Election 2015!
If you are interested in helping to shape your AU experience, consider becoming a councillor with the Athabasca University Student’s Union (AUSU). Currently, the 9-seat council has 6 seats open for nomination. Successful candidates will serve as councillors for the remainder of the 2014-2016 council term, which ends with a new council voted in through the General Election in March/April 2016.
Nominations are being accepted from now until July 31st @ 11:59pm MST.
The 2015 By-Election voting period will run 4 days from August 21st – 24th inclusive, and the new councillors will be sworn in and begin their positions in early September 2015.
The requirements and processes to run for Council can be found in detail here (PDF file).
For further questions, or to request an AUSU Council Nomination Form for self-nomination, please email our Chief Returning Officer at cro@ausu.org. This Nomination Form must be fully completed and signed; any missing information will result in the form and nomination being discarded.
All candidates must agree to the principles outlined in our Election Policy 3.01 – Election Conduct. To read this policy, please click here (PDF file).
There is a 2015 By-Election Forum here. Members may use the forum to ask questions of the election candidates, or they may ask questions of AUSU regarding the election process. Make note, any questions not related to the elections will be removed.
