Walking New York

By Laurie Milne in the group AU Anthropology Interest Group August 13, 2015 - 1:55pm

Students in Anthropology 394 will find the April 26, 2015 edition of The New York Times Magazine of interest.   Its premise is that New York is a great walking city, that New Yorkers have an attachment to walking that "borders on the metaphysical", and that "walking is not only a way to get around but is the way to be a New Yorker".   This special issue discusses in text and pictures  17 different walks in this city which figures prominently in both course texts.
