The readings and assignments in week one and two of the Academic Writing for Graduate Students course, have revealed areas in my writing that I would like to develop throughout this course. Some issues with my writing are: developing an argument or perspective; summarizing or paraphrazing readings and research; sentence structure and grammar. Furthermore, after meeting with my instructor it is evident that I need to build confidence and apply less pressure to myself. I should focus on building confidence in formulating and sharing my own ideas. By applying less pressure on myself, I can focus on enjoying the learning process. I have come into this course with the feeling of being overwhlmed and stress. I will try to relax and focus on what I am taking away from this course and how it will help prepare me for my further studies.
