Berry-Picking: Blogging Activity

The berry-picking blog post template is designed for learners to facilitate the creation of a series of blog posts to document independent online search activity. This template requires learners to analyze the resources, and record the search process and learning context to more easily retrieve it for re-use. For example, in addition to the meta-data, this post captures the keywords, the learner's rationale for choosing the resource, and an indicator of how challenging it was to find the online resource. The template also requires a deeper reading of the content, requiring greater analysis beyond the abstract and keywords. By requiring the learner to identify relevant quotes and a brief identification of main ideas, the learner takes the required time to carefully identify and evaluate the likely usefulness of the resource for their research project.
