On September 02, 2017, Elizabeth Renzetti wrote, "Who we choose to memorialize and who we choose to forget are clear indications of what a society values; the way forward, or the darkness of the past?"

Students enrolled in Anthropology 272: Introduction to Archaeology will find that Renzetti's discussion of symbols and their use by ethnic groups and political entities provides many useful examples.
