I have enrolled myself in the Academic Writing Course to improve my writing skills. I have found out that I’m struggling in writing a clear paragraph or let’s say a well- organized paragraph. It’ not only this, but it’s also how to demonstrate my thoughts and ideas on the topic sentence. This is my first challenge. I’m working on this now, and I hope at the end of this course I will be able to get over this issue.
Although I always have new and fresh ideas on different subjects, but unfortunately, I can’t really present them in a good complete paragraph. This is what I’m trying to learn.
I would like also to share with you some of the things that I have learned so far about writing a good paragraph, and please feel free to tell me if I miss any important details that a good paragraph has to include.
I have learned that a good paragraph is when you state the main idea of the paragraph in a topic sentences, and it is not really important to be at the begging of the paragraph. Add to that, a good paragraph has to include more explanation and information in different supporting sentences that is related to the central thought. At the end, we also have to think about the concluding sentences that has to summarize everything you have written about and it is helping the reader to transit to the next paragraph.
The last technique that I would like to share with you that after I finish writing my paragraph, I should do a proofreading and this is when I have to revise the paragraph to ensure consistency in grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Thanks for reading this and I hope you will share your experience as well.
