Anthropology 272 (Introduction to Archaeology) students  can read  about the successful repatriation of a Kwakwaka'wakw artifact  to a British Columbia First Nation which has taken place nearly a century after its theft.  Read about the journey of the mask and the role of  Donald Ellis, a Canadian dealer in Indigenous art, who arranged the return.  The cultural significance of the sun mask is detailed as well.
