Thanks to Su-Tuan (http://cde.lms.athabascau.ca/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=26598, I became aware of a great tool that allows students/researchers to organize and share research papers they are reading:

Mendeley is probably the best app I've come across in a long time. It is not only cross-platform but also web-based account can be synchronised with stand alone installations.

So far I'm quite impressed with what one can do with Mendeley when writing research papers. Can't help but think, a similar functionality should be built into the Landing.
