This is a helpful and concise guide to understanding the major changes in the new copyright law, Bill C-11, and how they impact our teaching. See especially the section about "Online transmission of lessons," which details the new (and not entirely great) provisions concerning distance-delivery education such as what we're all about.
Keep in mind though that this guide was written before Bill C-11 became law, and - perhaps more importantly - before the Supreme Court's importnt decisions in five cases concerning copyright collecting societies, fair dealing, and technology. Look for more here on this "copyright quintet" once the AU copyright committee gets all read up on the rulings and accompanying commentaries. In the meantime, CAUT has published a decent short summary of the decisions and their implications for #cdnpse.
