Zuckerberg would always ask the same question: "Does it help us grow?" If not, he would tell Kagan he wasn't interested.
This relentless and single-minded pursuit of growth not matter what the cost is of course what I hate most about Facebook, because it trumps all other interests, most notably concern for human beings or interest in the social good. It is cold, calculating, and ultimately very harmful to its users (or 'used') and the entire industry.
