Robert Kroetch's "What the Crow Said" and Endless Winter

"What the Crow Said" is set in a fictional town somewhere in the borderland between Alberta and Saskatchewan. The novel follows a schmier game the characters play to distract themselves from the endless winter in the surrounding environment. The idea of an endless winter might come to mind given the impressively low temperatures for the month of April 2018 in Alberta and elsewhere in Canada.
