OUYA is an open source gaming platform that will enter the retail market on June 25 in Canada, the U.S. and the UK. It is powered by the Android operating system and contains 1GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal flash storage and will retail for $99. The platform is the brainchild of Julie Uhrman, an industry veteran who wanted to build a console that was a throwback to TV-based gaming and that offers different games than those currently available on Xbox or PlayStation platforms.
