This goldmine of advice for grad students helped immeasurably with my own doctoral studies--and subsequent academic work. It ['s been conspicuously disappeared from the Internet in recent years. I don't know why. Agre's apparently not with UCLA any more, although his home page still is and there's lots more good stuff there. Then I remembered the Wayback Machine. I'm starting to regard it as a WikiLeaks for the Internet's own history, which is proving delightfully irrepressible.] moves around a lot on the Internet. This update is the latest stable result I can find, an edition from 2002.
