The Ronin Institute is dedicated to reinventing academia outside of the academy, to invent new ways to fund, support, and connect scholars who are doing their research outside of the traditional setting of the university (or National Laboratory, independent research institute, etc.). They are not trying to push a single model, or a "right way" to pursue independent scholarship.
