The University of Alberta’s Faculty of Extension has a mandate to create opportunities for lifelong learning in response to the needs of individuals and society by engaging the university and communities in learning, discovery, and citizenship. Through its 102-year history, Extension has achieved an exemplary record of delivering university continuing education, enabling students to study and earn credentials in their preferred schedules and delivery modes, advance their careers, and enrich their lives. The Faculty of Extension now delivers over 300 courses and more than 30 programs to 7500 students annually. Through instructional design, e-Learning support, and instructor professional development, the Learning Engagement Office (LEO) focuses on developing programs and courses for continuing and professional education within the Faculty of Extension at the University of Alberta. The Instructional Designer position is integral to the Learning Engagement Office’s provision of learning design and delivery support and consultation throughout the instructional development process and course lifecycle for online, blended, and face-to-face courses.........
