Author is critical of the predominant educational landscape that emphasizes standardization and specialization. He thinks that the distinction between technical and aesthetic disciplines is artificial and has led to reduced funding for arts and humanities programs. He suggests that educational models need to consider how to "provide meaningful and intrepretive skills that embrace interactive social technologies." Video games should be seen as a new narrative genre.
