Interesting article on universal design, functional anthropometry (examines the environment’s mis-fit with a range of bodies rather than the deviance of a body from a statistical average), value of proportionate sampling when considering disability (people with severe disabilities fall outside the sampling population when proportionate sampling is used) and the importance of methodological reflexivity. Although the focus is on real world design (e.g. built environment) elements there are many parallels with design in the online environment.
