Note that this is a four year term position, and also that it is an internship offered as part of the Historical Resources Intern Program (HRIP). Full details on the HRIP may be found here:
http://heritage.resources.athabascau.ca/projects/hrip/hripguide/
As an HRIP internship, this position INCLUDES paid registration in the Athabasca University courses required to complete either the undergraduate University Certificate in Heritage Resources Management (a value of at least $6563.00 for students without an undergraduate degree) or the graduate level Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Heritage Resources Management (a value of at least $11,033.00). Both the University Certificate and the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma will ladder into higher credentials (a BA and MA respectively) if an intern chooses to continue their studies.
As with all HRIP interships, this position also includes 70 hours per year of paid time allotted to complete coursework in the HRM program. These substantial academic benefits are all in addition to the remuneration package of wages and benefits outlined in the position description link above.
The Farm Program Assistant internship position is a rare opportunity to work with livestock as an historical interpreter in an outstanding living rural heritage museum, which also provides significant training opportunities at the university level. If driving a team of horses, sharing Alberta's stories and history with the public, and being paid to work towards a university heritage credential are appealing to you, please follow the application procedures listed in the links above. Note that the competition closes on January 6th.
If you have any questions about the position details, please contact the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village's Director, Arnold Grandt, at Arnold.Grandt@gov.ab.ca or by phone at 780-662-3855 ext. 1102. If you have questions about the academic component of this internship, please contact me at the Heritage Resources Management program office.
