No you do not. Anybody from any institution can take an Athabasca University Sociology course. You can take one course to fill in the credential you are working on from your home institution, or you can register in the Sociology program itself and get a complete credential (i.e. four year Sociology degree) from Athabasca University. Athabasca University is flexible and open in its service to students.
Discussion forums are group tools that make it easy to discuss things with others in the group. Remember that discussions can also evolve around most things on the Landing including blogs, wikis, bookmarks, files, events and polls.
