Have you ever wanted to meet other Athabasca University graduate students in person? If so, this is the event for you! Mark your calendars; on Thursday, January 13th, 2011, in Edmonton, Alberta, the AUGSA will be hosting its first ever in-person networking event.
The goal of this event is to give students an opportunity to meet one another in person to network, socialize, make connections for their academic and professional development, and get to know one another in an interdisciplinary environment. Students will have an opportunity to meet members of the Athabasca University administration, their professors, and members of the AUGSA.
Our event will take place on January 13th at the Vintage Room in the Sutton Place Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta. The event will run from 5 to 7pm, and the AUGSA will provide light refreshments for all. Business casual dress is recommended, and you are welcome to drop in anytime from 5 to 7!
This event is free for all Athabasca University graduate students and guests (over the age of 18). We would love to have you attend! If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to president@augsa.com so we can confirm numbers for food and beverage.
Note: If this event is successful, we will look at expanding in-person events to other major cities that have a significant number of AU graduate students.
We hope to see you on the 13th in Edmonton!
