This is a really interesting article! A relevant book was recently published by Michael Pollan, an American author, activist, journalist, and professor of journalism at UC Berkley, called "How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence." This book discusses his and others' research on the effects of LSD and psilocybin on suffering related to depression, addiction, and anxiety. He includes a section outlining the neuroscientific research that is being conducted in this department. If you are interested in this topic, I would highly recommend this book.
Thanks for the heads up Melissa. have added it to my purchase list.
