    Netezza for analytics is a great research topic. It uses Postgres as the backend db. Netezza is a full frame of blades that process the queries in a MPP fashion. Interestingly, Netezza does not use indexes, nor partitioning :)

    Hi Dickson, I would not go as far as saying that RDBMS have issues scaling out because clustering options exists in most platforms. Replication can be used to keep slaves in sync. Decentralizing tables as you mentioned can be done for distributing...
