The boreal forest is one of the most iconic treasures of the Canadian wilderness. "The Forest is Calling" is the latest documentary produced by Albert and Pirkko Karvonen, with support from Athabasca University Science Outreach, that deals with the Canadian boreal forest, as well as similar forest environments in Finland. The Calgary Finlandia Cultural Association will be screening the DVD in Calgary on Sunday, September13 at 5pm in the Valhalla Room of the Scandinavian Centre (739-20 Ave NW). Admission in free and includes the screening, a discussion with the Karvonens, coffee, tea, and snacks. Please join us!
