I'm an advanced open water diver with SSI, and I assist instructors with open water certification of new divers. This weekend I got a shiny new underwater camera for Fathers day - and decided to test it out in Jasper.
There's not a whole lot of life in the mountain lakes, though there's plenty of interesting geology. Lac Beauvert is a cool lake because it's filled from the bottom by glacial vents. Ice cold water direct from the glaciers bubble up from the lake bed and form little mini-volcano-like structures.

There's literally hundreds of these spread around the bottom of the lake. It's very cool.
