Yesterday morning, in the Faculty of Grad Studies conference, I tweeted about AU student Bethany Tynes' work on country music artist Corb Lund. By the time I got home from the conference, Lund had retweeted my remark - to his nearly eight thousand followers.
That's a lot of people who will be finding out about AU's first grad student conference this way, or even about AU itself this way. The actual "impact factor" of this kind of online interaction and promotion is perhaps impossible to gauge with any precision, but from here it looks like pretty great "free press" for the student and AU alike.
