The public course website for one of the drama courses I teach, English 303, has been updated to include a link to the new Productions page here in the Landing, where in-course students (and other Landing users) can view full-length theatre productions that are freely available online.
This is one of a few ideas I've been developing to make drama, theatre, and performance studies more concrete and vivid for the digital, distance-delivery student. (It also plugs into other AU digital initiatives and imperatives, like drawing undergrads to the Landing ... muhahaha!)
It's no Such Tweet Sorrow, but it's a start.
The Landing is a social site for Athabasca University staff, students and invited guests. It is a space where they can share, communicate and connect with anyone or everyone.

Great idea!
Did you know that there is an AU Second Life island available for free your students and yourself to use for immersive experiences? Please contact Dr. Bob Heller <bobh@athabascau.ca>, for more info.
Here's some pictures of an in-world psychology lab research project that Dr. Trevor Gilbert from AU's centre for psychology is working on:

Dr. Bob Heller is also working on a Freudbot project and the business school held a small convocation event on the island a few years ago - info here:

This might be an excellent way to, as you mention "...make drama, theatre, and performance studies more concrete and vivid for the digital, distance-delivery student"
Have fun!
Thanks, Carmen. Maybe it's time to explore Second Life. (One production I didn't list on the Productions page is a Kent State U production of the Wakefield Second Shepherd's Play ... in Second Life. (I didn't list it because I think there are enough issues of media and adaptation for students to consider in the fixed-shot and televised "real life" performances, without asking students to consider or interpret the additional layers of remediated and collaborative dramaturgy that go into a Second Life performance.)
