At my Wordpress blog, I had posted over the holidays about my experimental "walkstation." The initial setup involved the treadmill, an iPad, and a bluetooth keyboard. It was not sustainable. (Among other reasons, 5 kmph is a bit too much speed to do on an average workday. The recommended speed is 1.6 kmph; I'm presently working at 2.1 kmph.)
Taking tips from the Treadmill Desk blog, to which an AU colleague happily brought my attention, I'm fine-tuning the prototype. The update includes a nominal desk that makes Ikea furniture look luxurious (but is much easier on the typing hands). And I've swapped out the iPad for the laptop, connected to a wall-mounted monitor, and bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
This is all still deeply in the R & D phase. But maybe eventually I'll get to join remotely in AU's health & wellness campaigns like walking to the north pole and stuff.
