"Spotlight on Sentence and Paragrapgh Skills" by Carole Anne May is not only compact but also exact in addressing the nature of problems in studying English as a second language. It would have been more useful if it had included ESL sections, transitional sentence formation, logical construction of sentences and use of unnecessary words by a person due to the first language particular mental make up in it. These sectionswill not only highlight the problems associated with learning English as second language but also may suggust solutions to them.
I got my 5th assignment marked. My use of transitional words needs improvement. This area is not a small one to work with. What I am donig is slectiong different sentences with transitional words and trying to understand how they have been written. If you have any better sugguestion please let me know.
