Discuss the following questions in the discussion forum:
Why should we be interested in distributed systems of agents?
MAS should be interesting to anyone due to their scalability and the robustness that comes with MAS. When you have a collection or web of agents, you can be much more adaptable in your problem-solving approach in real-world situations. Not adhering to a rigid rule set allows individual agents to adapt to more localized/specialized ways to solve tasks.
What are the differences between traditional distributed systems and multiagent systems?
We often have a specific goal for our entire system in a distributed system. In MAS, we have goals for each agent to work towards for the entire MAS to achieve a certain state or goal. In MAS, we often can see emergent behaviors that arise due to the conditions of the system, while behavior in distributed systems is much more predictable.
