I thought this would be a good place to share links to resources for those wanting to undertake visual work. I got this link from the mailing list of the Society for Linguistic Anthropology. http://kit.linguisticanthropology.org/2010/10/28/video-recording/

I am tryign to convince the library to purchase a subscription to Ethnographic Video Online for my Visual Anthropology course as well as any other course I am involved in writing. I worry that the cost is prohibitive for the instituional license - they do not offer indivual subscriptions. But I will not have text books so I hope that can offset the cost. It is an amazing collection of films with full transcripts that allow you to link top the video directly. Also gives you the ability to make short clips and notes that link to the section of the film.
Excellent! We should argue that we need it for research as well, and for video resources for Anth 275 and Anth 491 and 591. Tell Steve that I support the acquisition and get Gloria and/or Raphael on-ine too if possible for MA-IS courses. What kind of money is involved for an institutional subscription?
Just catching up..
