i notice that with the discussion forums there is a useability issue. If you take a look at this page
https://landing.athabascau.ca/pg/groups/54443
and see the LATEST DICUSSION BOX
if you click on the "new discussion post" the expectatin, I think, is that that will open up a posting window so that you can add a "new discussion post." But it doesn't. Instead it takes you to the landing page? that seems totally counterintuitive and even confusing. WHen I click on that I'm taken away from the posting page, away from the group, and not only do i have to go back but then I have to start searching for how to post in the discussion group.
is this a configuratin setting or something. can this be changed?
That is indeed unexpected! The usual behaviour would be what you suggest. I've not been able to duplicate this myself - please would you try once more to see what happens? My suspicion is that it might have something to do with timeouts - might there have been a longish time between getting to that page and posting?
Jon
I had that happen when I was trying to post in a discussion within a group a week or so ago. Right back to the Landing page. Annoying but I never got around to reporting it. Bad.
I do not beilieve it was time outs and it happened repeatedly that morning. I have not experienced it since but then I don't think I have tried it again since.
Discussion forums are group tools that make it easy to discuss things with others in the group. Remember that discussions can also evolve around most things on the Landing including blogs, wikis, bookmarks, files, events and polls.
We welcome comments on public posts from members of the public. Please note, however, that all comments made on public posts must be moderated by their owners before they become visible on the site. The owner of the post (and no one else) has to do that.
