Liminal Spaces

Liminal Spaces

This is a mind-map to begin the process of clarifying and describing some key theories and concepts about liminality. I am beginning the sense-making process, and am investigating how blogging can be impacted by narratology, performativity, and other ideas.

There's a lot about liminality in anthropology and performance studies, especially as Victor Turner developed the term to theorize ritual. See Turner's Forest of Symbols (Cornell UP, 1967); for a more introductory discussion in contemporary performance studies, see Richard Schechner's Performance Studies: An Introduction (Routledge, 2002).

Thank you Mark, I am interested in exploring the topic of liminality from an educational perspective, as I would like to develop blogging activities with learners.

I am interested in exploring edublogging for literacy learners, to empower them to tell stories, and foster confidence in their voices.
