VoiceThread is not for everyone but it does offer abilities not previously available. This tool will earn a place in the toolbox of instructors and teachers as a collaborative tool that offers social presence and teacher immediacy.

As the research from the literature warns learning activities need to be properly design to maximize collaboration if that is the desire.
