Important notice: the student web server is unavailable. Until this is fixed, we do not require you to upload your site to the student server. See Running a web server on your local machine for details of how to meet the requirements for the final unit, and my posts on the subject in the discussion forum for further information about the problem.

Testing of a new server is in progress: if you would like to get early access and you are unafraid of working with command lines, network settings, and conf files, please contact Gerald Abshez, asking to be part of the trial.

Unit 7 - Reflection: Revision

Last updated February 29, 2024 - 12:33pm by Ashutosh Singh

Work completed: I included a YouTube video in the unit's instructional part of my website. In order to improve the user's learning experience, this required integrating the video player and setting it up to display pertinent material.

Justification and Congruence with Personas and Scenarios: The Unit 1 personas and scenarios served as the foundation for the choice to include a YouTube video. Sarah, one of the personalities, said that she preferred learning resources with images and interactive elements. My objective was to accommodate Sarah's preferred method of learning and enhance the overall user experience by incorporating a video instruction.

Fulfilling Learning Objectives: JavaScript Embedding for Web Services: I was able to access the YouTube API and obtain and dynamically display video content on my website by embedding the YouTube video using JavaScript.

Improving the External Services User Experience: By adding more multimedia information to supplement the written instructions, the YouTube video integration improves the user experience.

Evaluation of Achievements and Difficulties:

Successes: It was comparatively easy to integrate the YouTube video, and the video material improved the tutorial portion and users' learning experience.

Difficulties: One difficulty was making sure the educational information in the videos was consistent and smoothly linked with the textual lectures.
