Though the experience with Sparks instructor training is not wholly positive it is good incite for what makes a good CAI.
Good instructional design (ID) dictates the need to have practice and feedback built into all areas of the lesson to maximize on learning. I believe that multiple deliver methods were used with the movies and PDF files and practice was involved with the quiz but the component missing in this computer assisted instruction is feedback. Having the quiz provide feedback on why a questions was incorrect and offer possible videos to review to confirm understanding would make this CAI better.
