What is worse Region Codes or iStore ? Answer is that they are the same thing.
If your home is planet Earth forget iStore, it will only torment you for the rest of your natural life.
However, if you are planted in one country for all of eternity then you are good to go with iStore.
The philosopy of Apple iStore -> humans are not allowed to travel outside a country unless Apple Inc. says so.
An example is downloading a free app for EU but since the Apple ID is tied to a NA credit card, any attempt to download is blocked. Thanks Apple, but hey I don't hold any hope for Android Google Market either.

So despite early, possibly Utopian projections about the Internet as a "borderless" ICT, between vendor TOS like these and the global copyright regime, the Internet is actually reinforcing rather than circumventing state borders. Apple does seem rather busy reconfiguring and redeploying monopoly. If only their gear wasn't so top.
As an aside, I see the Wikipedia URL misspells fascism. Sometimes I want to be able to let Wiki citations stand as acceptable in student work, and then I see stuff like this.
Perhaps the URL is an in-joke.
Why on earth would you think governments would want 'bordless' environments.... virtual or actual ?
Once business took over the Internet ... well that was the death of that ...
Long live old tech .... i.e. hemp rag message in a bottle.
Way back in the distant past of the 1990's.... there was Ian Angell...
