The irony of tonight's post is that I spent more time with technical video matters than I did with actually strumming my ukulele.  Hopefully, however, the technical investment will be worth the time as I'm pretty happy with what I was able to accomplish both in learning about video composition and ukulele strumming.

The Uke School surprised me tonight.  It contains a handy little tool for modeling strumming.  Essentially, you get to strum along with a band, and it gives options to turn off the band, turn off the ukulele strumming, or you can turn off both (though I don't know why you'd choose to practice without accompaniment).  I was able to play along and try to mimic the strumming until I "re-wired" my brain to the pattern of uke strumming.

I overlayed a section of the Ukulele's website strumming tool as I played along with it.  It's crude in that the sychronization may be off by a little, but I think you can see that the longer I played, the more consistent I became.  I also tried embellishing some of the strumming patterns, though due to the low quality of the video you can't really point out the strumming details.  I've added some annotations to the YouTube video as well.
