I came from China 6 years ago and luckily became a permanent resident last year. My English has greatly improved after living and studying here for 6 years. However, my English level is still below the native speakers'. First of all, I find it is so challenging to accelerate my reading speed. Secondly, my writing skills are far from being satisfactory. Therefore, reading and writing are the two major obstacles on my way to master English as a second language.
In the past, I have worked industriously to improve my English. In order to learn how to write, I participated in various academic writing workshops and the plain language writing workshops, but things are going very slow. I understand that good writing skills cannot be acquired in a short period of time, so I hope this course will keep me in a zone, where I can continuously practice writing and improve myself.
