This session will explore how UDL strategies and tools can be used to promote student engagement in postsecondary learning environments. The discussion will include a review of the way these approaches can be used to support at-risk students and students in high risk courses (e.g. those courses with significant drop out and withdrawal rates). Impact UDL, the Athabasca University sponsored conference, is coming up in January 2016. This session will provide attendees with a preview of the kinds of topics that will be covered in the conference as well as insights into how UDL principles can aid instructors, instructional designers, student service personnel and others in improving the student experience and learning outcomes.
