As I progressed through my learning experience at AU, the following concepts began coalescing in my mind, with common themes continuing to re-occur throughout my work:
1. Respecting the Learner
2. Engaging the Learner
3. Building Learner Resiliency
4. Inspiring the Learner
I also realized that some aspects of my earlier learning experiences had not been inspirational nor very effective but now I have a better understanding why this happened. I tried to keep an open mind. I adapted to the new learning environment ─ through distance education. I challenged myself and was challenged by other learners in new and exciting ways. Ultimately, I was motivated and sustained throughout by the rich and diverse learner community at Athabasca University.
The Landing files tool can be used to share files with others, comment on them and build dialogue around them.
Some files are treated specially: on the whole, pictures will be displayed as pictures (jpg, gif and png formats), audio will be played as audio (mp3 and a few other formats) and video will be shown as video (various formats). It is thus a way to build picture galleries, podcasts and vodcasts.
You can upload multiple files and even upload zip files, that will be extracted on this site into their individual components.
