I hope everyone is having a good holiday break and I want to wish everybody a Happy New Year.
I am currently playing with the new Flip Ultra (http://www.theflip.com/) that my wife gave me for Christmas. It is a small, video camera that stores up to 60 minutes of video and the qaulity is surprisingly good. It even comes with a cable to allow you to hook it up easily to a TV to view the videos. The big attraction is the ease of use with the usb connector that flips out on the side for plugging into the computer. The software allows you to create basic movies and email them (hosted on the their servers) but the videos can be downloaded and edited in more robust editing software. So far I am liking the small size and ease of use.
I can see me using it in my jr high tech classes for small video projects. I can also see using it to teach robotics. I can film a robot to demonstrate online a task that I would have students program their robots to perform.
